SOLD 0179: Heddon, #8, 2-1/2F, Varnished 6-strip bamboo flyrod. 9' 3/2, for #6 or 7 line (HCH or D). 6 oz. Nickel-silver Down Locking reelseat Brown marblized Pyralin (celluloid) spacer. 6"-'straight' cork grip. Bright Nickel-silver rolled-welt ferrules are snug as when new. Bronzed snake guides and chrome stipper guide are wrapped in Black/Green Jasper. No hook keeper, as issued. Original bag with good, legible hang tag, and original tube with faint markings on the factory label.
All joints are factory straight and equal length save for one tip which is about 1/8th inch shorter than the other (as made no doubt based on wrap condition). This entirely original rod has typical dark Heddon "Browntone" cane and very good varnish. There are, however, a few minor surface abrasions in the butt joint from casting in the bushes, I suppose.
Take a close look at this splendid "Bass, or Heavy Trout", Heddon. With many early Heddon hang tags suggesting that the owner apply a coat of varnish every now and then, it is getting very hard to find one in this un-molested condition. This one would fit nicely into your high end Heddon collection. Excellent-NM. $
