0194: Heddon, #10 Blue Waters, Varnished 6-strip bamboo flyrod. 9', 3/1, 2-1/2F, "HCH or D", (#6 line). 5.8 oz. (Bass or Trout action). The Nickel-silver down-locking reelseat with "PAT#1807078" stamped on the locking screw ring has the uncommon, cream colored marblized Pyralin spacer. VG-Exc ~7" straight cork grip. Bright Nickel-silver ferrules with rolled welts. Hardened steel snake guides with a bright chrome stripper guide. Black and White jasper wraps with open-wound hosel and strap & ring hook keeper.
All original factory script was maintained during the refinish and is bold and distinct on the shaft. The "Heddon" name runs axially up the shaft rather than spiraling around it, indicating a post 1950 build date. The rod is supplied in a custom sewn segmented, labeled sleeve. The original aluminum storage case, with a remnant of the factory label remaining, is missing the cap. The mid joint female ferrule is a replacement resulting in the mid being ~3/8" short.
This handsome looking "Browntone" Heddon rod has been professionally refinished to excellent condition. Although this Heddon "Blue Waters" fly rod falls short of being a collector piece it is no doubt a bargain as an excellent, "Bass-Trout" weight Heddon! Exc. $195
