The comfortable grip on this rod is a full-bodied reverse half-Wells, solid cork grip. The down-locking reel seat is light-weight and has dual, locking threaded, rings. The new varnish is UV protective spar varnish. This 'trade rod' carries a "FrostCo. decal and was probably produced by Horrocks-Ibbotson. The model name refers to New Jersey's 'Paulinskill River', although it uses the Dutch influenced, c.1745, naming of 'Paulins Kill'. This is a very nice, medium action Trout rod.
If great looks 'and' performance are requirements, then this professionally rehabilitated vintage split-bamboo is sure to please. The wraps pay homage to the 'Granger Favorite' pattern, but take it up a bit with the addition of black tipping. The rod sections and assembled length are incredibly straight, with virtually NO sag!
