Down-locking reel seat with PAT.#1807078 stamped in the nickel silver screw ring. Cream marblized Pyralin (celluloid) spacer. 7" very good 'fat cigar', solid cork rings, grip. Bright nickel silver, rolled welt, non-serrated ferrules. Hardened steel snake guides and a chrome stripper guide. Open wound strap and ring hook keeper. Black & Yellow Jasper wraps. Original cloth segmented sleeve with Heddon label, and hang tag. Sturdy, original aluminum storage case with nickel screwtop cap(has two names scratched into it and tape at ends - reason unknown).
All four joints of this 'Heddon Browntone' rod are full-length and straight. The nickel silver ferrules are tight to the bamboo, fit snuggly, over-wrapped and pop when seperated. All shaft writing is crisp, dark and legible. The 'Heddon' name runs up the blank on one flat, the 'Blue Waters' model name on another flat and the complete rod data on a third flat; '#10-9'-2 1/2F-HCH or D'. This format dates the rod to c1951 or later. All guide and ferrule wraps are new. The entire rod was stripped clean, polished, and new coats of UV resistant spar varnish were applied.
