[ SOLD ] 0390: Bristol FB-7, (Edwards). Varnished 6-strip bamboo fly rod. 9', 3/2, for #4/5 line, 5-5/8 oz. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a mahagony tenite barrel and stainless steel butt cap. 5-3/4" Edwards' torpedo grip, solid 1/2" rings. Bright nickel ferrules with rolled welts. Hardened steel snake guides, blackened stripper, Deep Red wraps sans tipping. Closed wound strap and ring hook keeper. One joint short due to a tip top reset, assembled rod is straight.
This rod has all the hallmarks of the 'Edwards' line. The 'Bristol' and 'FB-7' designation are in white ink, reading away from the cork grip, as they should. Very good reel seat, and cork grip in the Edwards', 'torpedo' style. All wraps are new and the rod has very good to excellent new UV resistant Spar varnish.
This rod has been professionally refinished and is very good looking and ready to go fishing. The rod is supplied in a segmented and labeled replacement sleeve. A quality storage case may be available.
If you have been looking for a classy and affordable 'Edwards' rod, this reburbished example fits the bill. One tip joint is approximately one-inch short due to a tip top reset after a fishing mishap. Guides have been re-aligned to fish properly with the shortened length. Not a collector example, but Very-good plus. $
