This circa 1923-1929 Horrocks-Ibbotson rod has the model name factory scripted in white ink, along with the 'Tonkin Cane' lettering. It carries the rare 'leaping trout' decal, a bonus for the collector. The lettering reads towards the grip as is usual with Horrocks-Ibbotson rods. The rod is handsome looking with flamed (Hexi-Super-cane) joints. Supplied with a custom-made, labeled cloth bag. A quality storage case is available.
Very light 'in the hand', this rarely seen 8-foot Trout-weight "Spinner' has been professionally refurbished to fine condition. Genuine 'Hexi-Cane' 'Tonkin Cane' gives this rod backbone and durability. All wraps and guides are new, and the new Spar varnish is excellent. Several tip joint snakes are 1/2 size larger to accomodate modern fly lines (larger diameters). All three joints are full length. Great looking rod at a reasonable price. 8-foot Horrocks-Ibbotson "Spinner", very good-excellent $200.
